Yael Stone, born in Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 was the character Lorna Mello as an inmate in Orange Is the New Black. Yael has graduated from NIDA. From a young age, Yael has been lucky to have worked with some of Australia's premiere storytellers, luminaries of theatre and visionaries who work behind the scenes in film as well as theatre and television. Yael enjoys a rich career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael was delighted to find her new home when Brooklyn Academy of Music, where the show played with great acclaim, moved to her new home in New York City. Yael co-founded The Cannery. The Cannery is the Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages writing, innovative creative projects, and supports the growth of writers in their teens.
